Magnolias are a fantastic inclusion in any garden or apartment. Having many functions from stunning cream flowers with a beautiful faint fragrance around the garden or for the house. Can be maintained to a variety of heights from low to medium hedging, topiary, small feature trees either in a small formal garden or by itself against a house. People enjoy little gems in apartments in larger pots and require very little maintaining. Often maintained around 2.5m wide x 3.0m high or if allowed to grow will reach 5 to 10 meters high x 3.5 to 5 meters wide

In the last 10 years or so Magnolia Teddy Bears have overtaken Little Gems as the most popular variety planted. Little Gems have a large dark green leaf that has a spear-shaped leaf.
Cultural
Requiring a full sun position but tolerating a very shady position as well, Little Gems will tolerant most types of soils. They prefer well-drained rich soil in between clay and sandy soil. Needing feeding with slow-release fertilizer each year before spring and a fresh top of mushroom mulch or any mulch rich in nutrients will go a long way to boosting the growth and health of your Teddy Bear Magnolias
